  • A fundraiser has been launched to support Leeds venue The Imaginarium after the space was forced to close last weekend.

On July 22nd, The Imaginarium confirmed that they would be forced to leave their Church Walk location due to a mandate from the Leeds City Council’s Planning Department. After undergoing what The Imaginarium team called a “very costly” process to change the usage terms of the building, the venue was informed that they would need to leave the space or restart the process.

The fundraising campaign, launched last week, is seeking to raise £5,000 to help offset some of The Imaginarium’s current financial burdens. These include legal fees and the cost of finding a potential new space, which the venue hopes to secure by 2026. Since its establishment, the fundraiser has already raised 80 percent of its goal.
