Leeds United are making steady progress in the transfer market with six new signings to their name. Next up, it looks like Daniel Farke will try and sign a new winger.

Daniel Farke has stocked up well so far this summer. It looks as though his Leeds United defence and midfield is now finalised, almost, with a new goalkeeper having arrived in Lucas Perri.

Leeds United have signed Perri from Lyon in a four-year deal. The Brazilian shot-stopper will replace Illan Meslier in goal and will allow Farke to turn his attentions fully to the final third of the pitch.

And throughout last week, Leeds United were trying hard to sign Igor Paixao from Feyenoord. But in the end, it looks as though Paixao is set to join Marseille. It’s certainly a blow for Leeds United, who were ready to cough up close to £30m to sign the Brazilian winger this summer.

Another winger who is liked at Elland Road is Jeremie Boga at OGC Nice. Reports earlier in the summer revealed how Leeds have made a bid to sign Boga this summer, worth around €12m (£10.4m).

Swap deals are not all that common in the transfer market these days, although they’re not uncommon, and Trabzonspor could well put together a swap deal to beat Leeds United in the race to sign Boga this summer.

Throughout Leeds’ pursuit of the former Chelsea winger, Trabzonspor have been linked with Boga too. Now, Turkish outlet Taka Gazete are reporting that Trabzonspor will look to put together a swap deal to overcome the €12m barrier to sign Boga this summer.

They write that there is a possibility of a swap deal with Nice who are conveniently interested in signing Trabzonspor midfielder Batista Mendy who could be used in a cash-plus-player swap deal with the Ligue 1 side.

Whether or not Leeds United will turn to Boga after missing out on Paixao remains to be seen, but he’s someone who definitely appears to be a target for the 49ers, and after the Paixao deal fell through, he could quickly come back onto Farke’s radar.

It’s no doubt that Paixao seemed like the one who Leeds United wanted this summer. After Manor Solomon returned to pre-season training with Spurs, the right winger position is definitely in need of another body or two, and Farke was seemingly pushing the boat out to sign Paixao.

With that deal having fallen through, attentions could swiftly turn to the likes of Boga or to the likes of Timothy Weah at Juventus. Of all the players linked with Leeds United this summer, there have actually been very few wingers.

Boga and Weah are two, and they both seem to be available for moves this summer. Weah in particular. Recent reports have revealed how Juventus are trying to sell Weah this summer, but that they are having a hard time in finding a new home for the USMNT International.

Recent reports on Weah revealed how Marseille were also trying to sign Weah alongside Paixao, with the former reportedly costing around £17.5m, which is almost half of what Paixao would have commanded.

With Marseille having moved for Paixao, it could leave Leeds in the clear to sign Weah. But Leeds also still want to sign Solomon this summer, with Spurs expected to make a decision later in the pre-season.

Who arrives on the right-hand side of attack for Leeds United this summer still remains to be seen.
