Prince William has not publicly addressed the birth of the Duke of Westminster’s daughter last weekend, but it is believed he would have sent private well wishes to his friend.

Cosima was born on Sunday while William was in Switzerland for the Women’s Euro Final, which saw the Lionesses secure a victory.

A spokesman for the Westminsters said on Sunday: “The Duke and Duchess of Westminster are thrilled to announce the birth of their baby daughter.

“Both the duchess and Cosima are doing well. The duke and duchess now look forward to spending this special time together as a family.”

As well as being spotted together on formal occasions, Hugh and William have always been seen sharing some sweet moments too.

One of these was when the friends took to the stands at Villa Park in Birmingham earlier this year to support Aston Villa.

Prince William sat behind the duke with his eldest son Prince George, who like his father and godfather, is believed to be an Aston Villa supporter.
