A huge scene has been put in place in Manchester city centre with an evidence screen erected outside the Arndale following reports of a male ‘falling from a car park’ on Tuesday (July 29).
An air ambulance was also scrambled to the scene, landing in a car park near to Chetham’s School of Music, as police and paramedics raced to seal off the area.
High Street was taped off in both directions, with tram services also cancelled between Shudehill and Market Street due to the incident.

In a statement on social media Greater Manchester Police said: “We are currently responding to a concern for welfare incident outside the Arndale shopping centre.

“There is no wider risk to the public and officers and colleagues from other emergency services are on the scene. Please avoid the area as this work is carried out.”
Air ambulance lands in city centre after person falls from car park
It’s understood a male is believed to have fallen from the building. The extent of his injuries is not yet clear. His age has also not yet been confirmed.

A large scene was put in place between Shudehill and Market Street. Multiple ambulances were seen lining the road along with police vehicles and vans amid investigations.
