Lies of P is the clear headliner for the month, a fantastic Souls-like inspired by Pinocchio. In our Lies of P PS5 review, we awarded an 8/10 rating and concluded: “Lies of P feels like the result of a developer having already taken multiple stabs at the Souls-like genre, so it’s impressive that Round8 Studio has accomplished so much on its first attempt. By fully embracing its dark take on the Pinocchio story, it sets itself apart from anything else available.”
This summer, the PS5, PS4 title was expanded with an Overture DLC that’s said to be just as good as the main game. It can be bought to complement the PS Plus Essential game for £24.99 / $29.99.

The quality of the lineup takes a bit of a nosedive after that, as My Hero One’s Justice 2 was called an “average arena fighter” in our PS4 review, concluding: “Different modes aren’t enough to make the title stand out, and ultimately, My Hero One’s Justice 2 offers an experience which, although enjoyable, is forgettable and somewhat bland.”
Then there’s DayZ, which launched in an absolutely dreadful state on PS4. We presume the game has been updated since its 2019 horror launch, which saw us score it 2/10, but there are far better survival experiences on the market nowadays.
