With just over a week to go until the 2025/26 Championship season gets underway, transfer rumours continue to mount up across the country, and it’s no different at Sheffield United.

According to reports from Alan Nixon, Wrexham have submitted a bid in the region of £4 million for Blades striker Kieffer Moore. The Welsh international only joined United last summer but could now be set for a quick departure as Wrexham look to add a proven Championship striker to their squad.

Sheffield United Could Cash in on Striker That Divides Opinion

The ambitious Welsh club are prepared to make Moore one of the highest earners in the division, offering him a wage significantly higher than the £30,000 per week he currently earns at Sheffield United.

With the backing of celebrity owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham are trying to carry on their momentum this campaign as they move towards their long-term goal of getting to the Premier League.

The soon to be 33-year-old had a very mixed ending to his debut season in a Blades shirt. Having played a huge part in United’s 6-0 aggregate thrashing of Bristol City in the Championship play-off semi-final, he looked virtually unstoppable in the first half in the play-off final at Wembley. However, he made a disastrous mistake in the final moments, ultimately gifting Sunderland the winning goal with a poor pass which Tommy Watson latched onto and exquisitely curled home into the bottom right corner.

Since this moment, fans have been split on social media regarding the target man’s future at Sheffield United. No matter what your stance is on Moore, nobody can argue that the reported £4 million bid would be exceptional business for the Blades considering his age.

Meanwhile, The Star reports that Sheffield United have placed a £15 million valuation on goalkeeper Michael Cooper amid interest from higher up the football pyramid. Cooper, who joined last summer from Plymouth Argyle, is seen as a long-term asset at Bramall Lane.

However, if the Blades do decide to cash in, they already have a potential replacement in mind. Wigan Athletic’s Sam Tickle is admired by key figures at the club and is being monitored as a possible successor. The 23-year-old enjoyed a strong 2024/25 season in League One, keeping 18 clean sheets in 46 league appearances, and is regarded as one of the most promising young keepers outside the Premier League currently.

Promising Defensive Midfielder Set to Travel to Bramall Lane to Announce Loan Move

There has been a transfer move pending for a few days now according to multiple sources, and now it looks like the Blades are finally close to announcing their new defensive midfielder. Djibril Soumare is set to finalise his loan move to Bramall Lane from Braga.

As reported by O Jogo, the Senegalese 22-year-old midfielder is currently awaiting visa approval before travelling to England to complete the season-long loan deal which could eventually turn to a permanent deal if Sheffield United achieve promotion to the Premier League.
