Married at First Sight Australia star Jamie Marinos made a bold move as her relationship with Dave Thomas Hand hit the rocks.
Despite being viewed as one of the strongest couples in the experiment thus far, Jamie and Dave have found themselves at an impasse over the past few days after Dave admitted that his feelings “hadn’t progressed” as fast as Jamie’s.
Ahead of the latest dinner party, Jamie questioned her husband over his growing distance, with Dave evidently more standoffish as he failed to reassure his wife. After an awkward and tense exchange, the pair arrived at the dinner party separately.
This blindsided both the pair’s co-stars and the experts, who all remarked that they had been “strong” throughout the experiment. After Dave walked in, several of the group noted his change in character, with close friend Jeff Gobbels stunned by his attitude.
After removing her wedding ring during the VT, Jamie informed the rest of the group about their marital troubles, adding that she was “hurt” after having her “heart broken” in a relationship that she now believed was a “lie”.

“We’re so far in. When were you going to tell me?” she asked Dave, who shared that he had been wrestling with his emotions over the “past few weeks”. After reiterating his previous stance, Dave conceded that he is unable to “express” himself in the way that his wife needed.
“He’s got a wall up. He’s detached,” remarked expert John Aiken, whilst Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla both said that Dave was acting “differently” from previous dinner parties during the experiment.

Adrian Araouzou and Eliot Donovan subsequently questioned if Dave had developed feelings for Veronica Cloherty – a line of thinking that has been echoed by viewers – following the Partner Swap, though they both denied the accusation.
Dave concluded by stating that he wanted things to work with Jamie despite his current feelings, though she urged him to “prove it” over the coming weeks as she confidently stated her needs – will the pair be able to recover?
