Almonds now cost $16 per kilo, up from $11 in 2024, an almost 50 per cent increase.

The Nut Market sells only “insecticide free, ‘non pareil’, Australian grown almonds”.

Non pareil almonds are the most common snacking variety of nut.

“They are a lighter colour, crisper and less bitter almond than the cheaper variety that are commonly found in the marketplace.

“I’m lucky that our customers appreciate quality so I only keep the best. Non pareil almonds are in particular short supply this season, seeing an almost 50 percent increase in price from last year.
