Adidas has been nearly flawless of their Germany kits. Over the years, they have provided brilliant home and away shirts for Die Mannschaft. Sadly, that partnership is reaching its twilight year before Nike takes over as Germany’s official brand. However, it is clear that Adidas is intending to finish their lengthy collaboration with Germany on a high.

Opaleak has just leaked the first concept of what Germany’s home kit will look like for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Those familiar with the national team’s history, or fans of iconic kits, will pick up on some nostalgia with this leak.

The shirt pulls heavy influence from Germany’s 1990 home kit, when they triumphed for their third World Cup title. The kit is rumored to be named ‘Icon of Tomorrow’ and will be a reinterpretation of the famous kit.

The leaks have already earned wide-praise, but ultimately the leaks are just an early indicator of what to expect, and the real verdict can be decided when we see the Germans hit the pitch in North America next summer.
