Tyson Fury has offered help a former heavyweight champion bounce back after a tough night in the ring.

Fury knows what it’s like to be up against it, having been involved in an up-and-down trilogy with Deontay Wilder that involved multiple knockdowns but ultimately saw him come out with two wins and a draw to claim and retain the WBC belt back in 2021.

Since then, Fury has taken the first two losses of his career to two-time undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk, who has also dished out the same fate to former IBF ruler Daniel Dubois.

After the fight back in mid-July, Dubois was accused by some of quitting because, although he was put down with a huge left hand, he looked to have his senses when he rose following the end of the 10 count and calmly walked back to his corner.

Speaking on Instagram, Fury made a passionate defence of Dubois and offered to train him in his hometown of Morecambe.

“I keep getting asked about this Daniel Dubois situation and all this quitting stuff and whatever else. Here’s the facts. The facts are, young Daniel D’s best against one of the greatest champions that has ever been and he was not good enough… he came up short. He got put down twice. What do you want him to do? Die in the ring? There is no first place for getting battered and still losing.”

“He did his best, he was not going to win the fight. He’s better off getting out of there. There is no cowards in boxing. When you are in that ring and fighting world heavyweight champions, there is no cowards. So all credit deserves to Daniel. He worked his bo***cks from being an eight year old to being world champion and fighting Usyk for the undisputed.

And, if you ever want to do any training with a f****** real straight man, get yourself to Morecambe anytime you want kid because there is no jealousy here and there is no people putting this doubt in you. Get up Daniel Dubois!”

Dubois has vowed to come back stronger and has done so in the past following defeats so many back him to become a world champion again in future.
