Emergency services have raced to Glasgow city centre following reports of a ‘stabbing’.
Police sealed off Sauchiehall Street at around 1.30pm this afternoon, with officers and ambulance crews descending on the scene.
Eyewitnesses report the major emergency response is due to a ‘stabbing’ near the Greggs branch on the busy city centre street, Glasgow Live reports.
Pictures from the scene show the police cordon widened with access to Sauchiehall Street via Bath Street now closed and CID on the scene.

An eye-witness told a reporter for Glasgow Live: “Someone had been attacked and been stabbed in the arm. Apparently it hadn’t been anything to do with him but he ended up getting attacked.
“It’s a shame because he wasn’t involved but they went for him. The ambulance took him away. I hope he’s ok.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1.23pm to attend an incident on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.
“We dispatched an ambulance to the scene and transported one patient to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.15pm on Wednesday, 30 July, we received a report of a disturbance on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and a man was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
