Leeds United are keen on signing a new striker before the transfer window closes and Artem Dovbyk has emerged as an option.

Daniel Farke got the Whites back to the Premier League last season, but the goal is now to keep them there come May 2026.

With Patrick Bamford expected to leave Leeds and Lukas Nmecha not ready to lead the line week in and week out, signing a new number nine is a priority.

According to Calciomercato (30 July), 28-year-old Dovbyk could leave Roma a year after he signed for them.

He has not impressed since joining the Italian club and has even missed pre-season training due to an injury.

Leeds have made contact to sign Dovbyk, but no official bid has been received by the Serie A giants.

Roma are looking for a fee north of £34million if they are to sell the Ukraine international in the coming weeks.

Dovbyk is an ideal fit for Leeds United’s needs as they return to the Premier League and signing him this summer is a priority.

At 28, the Ukrainian striker brings proven goal-scoring prowess, with 54 goals in 86 appearances for Dnipro and 17 goals in 45 games for Roma, despite a challenging debut season.

Dovybyk’s career stats.

His physicality and clinical finishing, honed at Girona, suit Farke’s high-energy, pressing system.

With Bamford and Mateo Joseph likely leaving, the Elland Road outfit urgently need a reliable centre-forward.

Dovbyk’s £34million price tag is within Leeds’ budget, especially after missing out on Igor Paixao.

His 11 goals in 36 international caps further highlight his quality.

Securing the Ukrainian’s transfer would provide a Premier League-proven focal point, crucial for Leeds to avoid relegation.
