The extra help comes as part of a “radical overhaul of how people are supported into work in West Yorkshire,” per a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Combined Authority and the Mayor of West Yorkshire.

£37 million in funding has been made available to “make life easier for people with health conditions and disabilities, by offering access to a range of personalised support all in one place.”

West Yorkshire’s Healthy Working Life Board met for the first time on Monday (July 28), when Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, and others pledged to “deliver the healthiest residents and workforce in England by 2040.”

The inaugural meeting was held at The Reginald Centre in Chapeltown, Leeds, which delivers a range of wraparound services.

The board is set to meet regularly to oversee the delivery of the multimillion-pound programme.
