Magnus Cort Nielsen rode an anonymous Tour de France due to an illness that did not allow the Danish all-rounder to put his breakaway mastery on full display as he’s known for. As if that wasn’t enough of hardships, opportunistic thieves striked Cort while at the airport in Barcelona. The Dane was on his way to Andorra, where he lives, when his Ridley bicycle valued over 9.000 euros was stolen from his van parked near terminal.

The Danish cyclist filed a complaint with a nearby police station, and quite surprisingly, the bike was recovered within a few hours. The police were able to easily identify the bike, as it bore the Danish flag and the cyclist’s name on it. As a token of gratitude, Cort gave the officers his Tour de France bib number 223. A nice souvenir to hang somewhere in the office.

The alleged perpetrators of the theft were two men, aged 29 and 30, with prior records for the same crime. The two individuals were arrested by ARRO officers who were patrolling the area. After checking their backgrounds and searching their belongings, they found the bicycle, arrested them, and brought them before a court.

The two men admitted they had stolen the bicycle. They should learn their sentence in a near future and this bizarre story has a happy ending for the Uno-X Mobility rider.
