Karel Marquez is reclaiming her time and her fitness journey.

The actress-host and mom of five shared that she’s finally back in the gym after a six-year break.

Motherhood, back-to-back pregnancies, and postpartum recovery had pushed her own wellness to the bottom of her priority list.

“The secret to happiness is to mind my own biz, away from online drama and focus on my goals, especially after 5 kids – even if it is reaching it slowerrrrr.

Her caption revealed not only the emotional and physical weight of being a hands-on mom, but also the quiet triumph of choosing to show up for herself.

“It took me 6 years to do this ‘Day 1 at the gym’ since I would either get pregnant with no breaks (geez [emoji]) and I would take time to recover post-birth.

“No time for thyself. [emoji] TBH, hindi madali, but I try to juggle the family with work. Nakakaya ko naman kahit papano.”

While she acknowledged that not everyone might care about her fitness updates, the post felt more like a celebration of personal commitment than a display of performative fitness goals.

“So… Here I am, not that people care about this post hahaha but I am just glad I showed up for myself. [emoji]

“Kimmy just turned 3 months old, and if I keep finding excuses, I will never get back in shape faster and be a healthier version of myself.”

She ended her message with a playful sign-off: “Ok enough now bye and hello day 1. [emoji]”

Despite the self-deprecating tone, the post resonated with many moms and followers who found encouragement in Karel’s balancing act between parenting and self-care.

Married to businessman Sean Fariñas, the couple are now proud parents to five children—Keiley, Kyler, Kobe, Kaden, and Kristina.

And while it may have taken six years to say “Day 1,” Karel Marquez proves it’s never too late to start showing up for oneself.
