Prince William employed one peculiar parenting strategy when he first became a father in 2013.

Prince William and Princess Kate welcomed their firstborn in 2013 – with Prince George having just marked his 12th birthday this past week.

Despite their enthusiasm about embarking on their new parenting journey, Kate had previously disclosed that they experienced the same anxieties as any other new parents, reports Daily Express UK.

As the duo departed the hospital the day following their son’s arrival, William seemed to draw notice for his seamless handling of securing George’s car seat. He made it look so easy, which Kate later disclosed, they had practiced at home, leading up to the big day.

But, really, William was nervous, which a source talked about, saying: “William had no idea it would be this tough. He’s using a bizarre tactic of belting out Coldplay anthems at all hours of the night even though he can barely hold a note.”

Apparently, singing helped keep William’s nerves at bay, but it was keeping Kate’s parents up at night.

The source added: “It’s even keeping Kate’s parents awake..”

In a prior guest spot on Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast, Happy Mum, Happy Baby, the Princess of Wales shared the parenting technique that William utilized to help them get ready for bringing their newborn home.

William found parenting tough at first

Kate disclosed that they had rehearsed this procedure numerous times to prevent any potential awkwardness, knowing crowds would be gathered outside the medical facility.

Speaking with Giovanna, Kate elaborated: “We were like ‘what do we do? … in a swaddle?’ ‘How’s this supposed to work?'”

Kate continued: “We even tried to practice with a little baby, like a little doll, at home but you know it just never works out the way you planned it so it was quite hard to do that on the world’s stage, but no, he [William] did a very good job.”

He figured out a way to manage his nerves

Just under two years following George’s arrival, the pair welcomed their second bundle of joy – and sole daughter – Princess Charlotte, who is now 10-years-old.

Kate delivered the couple’s third little one, and youngest son, Prince Louis in April 2018, who is now seven years old.

To celebrate George’s 12th birthday on July 22, Kensington Palace unveiled a fresh photograph of the future king.
