Liverpool have some of the best players in the world in their squad right now.

Virgil van Dijk is the world’s best defender according to some, Alexis Mac Allister remains incredibly underrated, while Florian Wirtz could be a superstar.

However, as the old saying goes, the best ability is availability, and Liverpool have a number of players who are remarkably fit.

Liverpool liked Arne Slot’s ability to keep players fit before he was even hired, and speaking to the Blood Red Podcast, Ian Rush has praised one Liverpool star for his fitness.

Rush spoke about Salah after he signed his new Liverpool contract over the summer.

The pundit called Salah an incredible player, before hailing the winger for his incredible fitness level, claiming that he won’t get injured again due to his remarkable physique.

“Yeah, really made up when he (Salah) signed that two year now because the first half of last season was incredible. And look at the second half, and got most probably more assists,” Rush said.

“Look at his physique. He’s not going to get injured again. No, you’re going to see his determination to be successful.

“When you speak to him, he wants to be, he’s looking to learn. But what most probably the best part about him is, he’s helping the younger ones as well. No, he’s telling them, you want to do that, you need to be doing this, you need to be doing that.”

Rush notes just how fit Salah is, and that’s because the Egyptian is ridiculously dedicated to his craft.

Indeed, Salah is one of the hardest workers in football, and that sort of work ethic does rub off on others.

Alexis Mac Allister has previously spoken about how Salah has changed his attitude towards off-field work.

“So since I arrived to Liverpool, I think I changed a little bit my routine before I didn’t used to go to the gym as much as now. And that’s because of him (Salah),” Mac Allister said.

“Yeah, that’s one thing (his physique). But the other thing is that he tells you that you need to be professional, you need to go to a gym and do this kind of thing. So, yeah, it’s a pleasure to work with him.

“And I think he really helps the players around.”

Salah is not only one of Liverpool’s best players, he’s one of the great role models in the game today, and you need a player like this in any successful team.
