Leeds United may look to complete a move for Ajax winger Mika Godts, according to reports – with the club having missed out on some of their bigger targets to dominate the wings in west Yorkshire so far this window.
Making his debut in April 2023, Godts spent last season fleeting between the first-team and Ajax’s reserves, evidently being too good for their youth ranks with six goals in just 14 games in the second-tier. As a result of his improved development in the Eredivisie, this season has been his best yet, scoring eight goals in all competitions in the 2024/25 campaign – and that may prompt Leeds to move for his services after failing to land their top targets so far in the current window, with just weeks left.

Leeds missed out on Igor Paixao earlier this week, with the Feyenoord winger choosing to join Ligue 1 giants Marseille instead – and that leaves them with work to do in the transfer market as they aim to bolster Daniel Farke‘s squad in a bid to stay in the Premier League.
There is a sticking point, however. Ajax will demand a fee of at least £34million for the flashy wideman who has been named as one of the ‘most promising wingers in Europe’, and although Leeds were willing to pay that for Paixao, it remains to be seen whether they will pay that for the Belgian as an alternative to the Brazilian star.
Godts has another four years left to run on his contract in the Dutch capital, and although Napoli, Sporting and Besiktas among others have been linked with a move for his services, Leeds may still feel a deal is worth doing, even if they have to pay huge amounts of money for his services.
Godts, born in Leuven, began his career after joining Genk aged 15, playing for their youth team after graduating from the academy – though Ajax bought him for a fee of just £820,000 plus a sell-on clause.
