Roma striker Artem Dovbyk has been linked with a move to Leeds United.
In terms of transfer business done at Elland Road this summer, it is certainly a case of so far so good, though there is still work to do.
Signing a striker will be a priority for the Whites ahead of their season opener in August, with Dovbyk linked with a move to Leeds.
The Roma striker scored 12 goals in 32 appearances in Serie A last season, and could be on the move again this summer.

Joel Piroe was the only reliable centre forward for Leeds last season, though it was clear that it wasn’t his preferred position, nor was it the one that would bring the best out of him.
Should Dovbyk complete a move to Leeds, he would immediately dethrone Piroe at the head of the team, though it wouldn’t necessarily spell the end for the Dutchman.

Via Fotmob, Piroe created 37 chances last season, with a pass accuracy of 77.3 per cent.
The former of those stats shows the creativity that Piroe has, which is often far more suited to a number 10, which is where he could play if Dovbyk signs.
Dovbyk’s advantages over Piroe:
- Aerial duels
- Conversation rate
- Effectiveness in the box
As for Dovbyk himself, it is clear that he is an out-and-out striker, having scored 12 goals from 12.25 xG last season, and creating just 25 chances.
Dovbyk completed seven dribbles last season, compared to Piroe’s 14, showcasing that the Dutchman is much better with the ball in transition, which will be key for Leeds in the Premier League.
Having the option of both would also be crucial for Leeds, should they opt for a two-striker formation at any time throughout the season.

Leeds are in desperate need of someone to score goals regularly in the Premier League, and Dovbyk would do just that.
The Ukrainian has scored goals wherever he has played, with 41 across his last two seasons in Italy and Spain.

Would he boost Leeds’ chances of staying up? Based on his goalscoring record, it would be a safe assumption to say that he would.
