London’s rumour mill has been churning away recently, and – to be quite honest with you – we’re not mad at this particular piece of information that it’s produced. The food market masterminds over at Arcade are supposedly set to open a shiny new venue right in the centre of the city. And despite there already being a plethora of places to go in London if you want to stuff your face with some outrageously good street food; we’re always willing to make room for one more.
Arcade Food Hall
If you weren’t already aware, Arcade is the pair of beloved food halls that have been filling London’s rumbling tummies for a few years now. With two scrumptious sites in Tottenham Court Road and Battersea Power Station, Arcade has earned itself a pretty decent reputation on London’s street food scene. And now it could be bringing its rather delicious offering to a third site in Covent Garden.
It was reported recently by Estates Gazette that Arcade has submitted a planning application to Westminster City Council in a bid to set up shop inside the former TGI Fridays site on the corner of Bedford Street. The venue was originally a 19th century department store, but spent many years as the (somewhat iconic) American dining chain. And now it could be transformed into the next ‘global dining playground’ from Arcade.
If it’s anything like their other two sites, we can expect the new Covent Garden outpost to offer a pretty mouthwatering selection of street food, spanning all corners of the globe. Bringing together food, drinks, music, and a darn good time; Arcade is a one stop shop for a delicious evening in the capital.

Planning permission is yet to be granted, and there are no details on a launch date. But let me tell you this: if all does go to plan, you can bet your bottom dollar that we’ll be down there faster than you can say ‘your order’s ready’.
