CASABLANCA – Morocco’s Competition Council has been notified of a potential acquisition by Holmarcom of 100% of the capital and voting rights of the company France Car SARL, which operates in the Moroccan market for the rental of self-drive vehicles under the German franchise SIXT.
Holmarcom, a diversified group present in banking, insurance, agribusiness, logistics, distribution and real estate, seeks to boost its presence in the vehicle rental sector and diversify its business portfolio.
A source from France Car said negotiations were ongoing with Holmarcom for the deal to be sealed within the next two months.
France Car, which is based in Casablanca, has managed to keep a strong position in Morocco’s competitive car rental sector throughout several years thanks to the solid management by the Tahiri family.
