Merseyside Police have urged drivers to avoid a busy Liverpool road after three cars were involved in a crash. A spokesperson for the police told the ECHO that the force received a report at 4.10pm of a road traffic collision at Princes Park gate in Toxteth.
The road has been closed at the roundabout on Princes Road by the park gates, with police and ambulance in attendance. The spokesperson added: “We’d ask all motorists to please avoid the area and find alternative routes.” Witnesses who might have seen the incident have been asked to contact the force too.
A number of bus services have been diverted following the crash. At 4.23pm, Arriva North West posted on X: ”Princes Park Gate – due to a police incident, services 75, 80 and 80A are diverting away from Princes Road via Upper Parliament St and Smithdown Road, in both directions, until further notice.”
At 4.26pm, Arriva said: “Due to a police incident at Princes Park Gates services 26/27 have been diverted to Upper Parliament Street omitting Lodge Lane, Princes Avenue/Road, Upper Warwick Street and Park Road.
“Please allow extra time for your journey.”
At 4.28pm, the bus company added: “Service 204 – due to a police incident, buses towards Liverpool will use Lodge Lane, Sefton Park Rd and Ullet Rd and resume normal route.
