Manchester United’s summer plans are coming together. Two signings have been completed so far, and the club is also focusing on outgoings.

Matheus Cunha joined the club for a £62.5million fee from Wolves while Bryan Mbeumo completed the £71m move from Brentford. Marcus Rashford linked up with Spanish giants Barcelona on a season-long loan.

Barca have the option to make his move permanent next summer. The 27-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim.

However, a number of players are exploring alternative options after slipping down the pecking order. Jadon Sancho, who returned to Old Trafford following a loan spell at Chelsea, has been linked with a return to his former club, Borussia Dortmund.

According to German outlet BILD, Sancho has already informed Dortmund managing director Lars Ricken and sporting director Sebastian Kehl that he is ‘willing’ to cut down on his salary to return to Signal Iduna Park. In addition to Dortmund, Juventus are also believed to be interested in his services.

Alejandro Garnacho is another player who could be on his way out. Chelsea are interested and have conducted a ‘series of background checks’ on the winger, claims The Telegraph.

Garnacho has long been on Chelsea’s radar, but the west London club would need to make room in their attack first. Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja are among those likely to be moved on.

The report adds that Chelsea are satisfied with the outcome of their background checks and are now waiting to finalise necessary outgoings, as well as receive the green light from United to move forward.

Garnacho’s preference is to stay in the Premier League, and Fabrizio Romano claims he’s keen on joining Enzo Maresca’s side.

Furthermore, United plan to sign a new striker and have shifted their attention to RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko.

As the Manchester Evening News reported earlier this week, United are advancing on a deal to sign the Slovenia international. The interest comes after Sesko was previously linked with a move to Arsenal and the Saudi Pro League earlier in the transfer window.

United’s Director of Recruitment has a strong relationship with the RB Group, which could give the club an advantage over other suitors, including Newcastle United.

If all planned incomings and outgoings are completed, only Tyrell Malacia and Antony’s situations would remain unresolved. With the window closing on September 1, United have just one month left to finalise any departures.

Antony, who spent last season on loan at Real Betis, is reportedly open to returning to the La Liga side.
