Chinese river cruise operator Century Cruises will expand to Europe through a partnership with United Waterways.

The river line, which cruises the Yangtze, signed a comprehensive service agreement with United Waterways, which offers white-label ship management services, Century Cruises said in an announcement. Shipyard Concordia Damen will build a river ship, the Century Star, to operate the European itineraries.

Century Cruises did not share when it would begin operating the Century Star or on which rivers. The cruise line did not immediately respond to Travel Weekly inquiries about the expansion.

“Europe represents a strategic growth market for us,” said Alex Ye, CEO of Century Cruises. “With United Waterways as our European liaison, we benefit from their deep expertise in infrastructure and compliance, allowing us to confidently introduce our clientele to the cultural richness of Europe’s waterways.”
