A main road in Salford has been shut off tonight after a crash.

It happened on Lumns Lane in Clifton at around 5pm this evening (Friday).

A cordon is currently in place close to where the road becomes Rake Lane.

The road has been blocked off with cones and police vehicles parked across it

The Manchester Evening News understands there has been a collision involving two vehicles.

It is not yet known if anybody has been seriously injured and no further details have been disclosed.
