MATT Richards helped Great Britain win relay gold at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.
The Droitwich swimmer swam the first leg of the 4x200m freestyle final as Team GB won their first gold medal at the World Championships.

The quartet of Richards, James Guy, Jack McMillan and Duncan Scott crossed the line in a time of six minutes 59.84 seconds.

Team GB finished just over a second clear of China who took silver while Australia claimed bronze.

Britain reclaimed the world title they last won in 2023.

Richards just missed out on a medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay earlier at the World Championships.

He swam the second leg in the final as Britian finished fourth behind Australia, Italy and United States of America.

The 22-year-old also finished eighth in the 100m freestyle final and just missed out on a place in the 200m freestyle final.
