West Midlands Fire Service said a fire engine was sent to Spies Lane from Woodgate Valley shortly after 10pm on Thursday (July 31). 

A car had collided with a bus stop and one male casualty freed himself from the vehicle. 

West Midlands Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene. 

A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: “Shortly after 10pm on Thursday (July 31), a fire engine from Woodgate Valley responded to Spies Lane, Halesowen.

“A car had come into collision with a bus stop, coming to rest on all four wheels. A male casualty freed himself from the vehicle and received a precautionary check from paramedics at the scene.

“Firefighters cleared debris from the road and handed the scene over to police and highways colleagues. We left the incident at 10.50pm.” 

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10.30pm on Thursday to a road traffic collision involving one car on Spies Lane, Quinton in Halesowen.

“Upon arrival, we found a man who was the driver of the car. He was assessed by ambulance staff and was in a potentially serious condition. He received treatment at the scene and declined further treatment.

“He received self-care advice before being discharged at the scene.”

West Midlands Police have been contacted for a comment.
