Reasons your Universal Credit may be cut by DWP
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed some people due State Pension or benefit payments over the Easter bank holiday weekend may see payments land in accounts early this week. Easter falls on Sunday, April 20 this year which means scheduled payments due to be made on Good Friday or bank holiday Monday may be affected.
DWP said: “To make sure people get their payment on a day when our offices are open, arrangements have been made to make some payments early.” Payments due on those dates will be issued on Thursday, April 17.
DWP also confirmed Jobcentres, offices and phone lines will be closed on Good Friday and bank holiday Monday too, but will open as usual from Tuesday, April 22.

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and Social Security Scotland have also confirmed some scheduled payments due over Easter will be made early.
This means payments including State Pension, Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Child Benefits and Adult Disability Payment (ADP) and Attendance Allowance due on Friday, April 18 or Monday, April 21 will arrive in bank accounts on Thursday, April 17.
It’s important to be aware that if your upcoming payment does not fall on either of the bank holidays it will be paid as normal.
