Everton and Leeds United are both pushing to convince Josh Brownhill to stay in England after he departed Burnley, GIVEMESPORT sources understand.
The 29-year-old confirmed his departure from Turf Moor after five years at the club this week, having captained the side to a sensational Championship campaign that saw them earn automatic promotion back to the Premier League after accumulating 100 points.
But the central midfielder has opted to move on for a new challenge this summer instead of renewing his contract, and he has got a number of options for his next destination.

Brownhill, who has been described as “top-class player”, enjoyed a stunning campaign in 2024/25 which saw him register 18 goals and six assists, and that has seen him attract a host of interested clubs as he is now available on a free transfer.
Leeds United have already added Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff to midfield options that include Ethan Ampadu, Ao Tanaka and Ilia Gruev, but they are still keen on Brownhill to add more Premier League experience to the squad.
Everton on the other hand are keen to strengthen their midfield after allowing Abdoulaye Doucoure and Orel Mangala to leave at the end of their contracts, and Moyes is known to be a big fan of the former Preston man.

But the player is very tempted to move abroad and ha received a lucrative offer that could see him travel across the Atlantic to join MLS side Toronto FC.
The Canadian club have offered Brownhill a three-year contract worth in excess of £100,000-a-week to make the switch, which would more than double the £45,000-a-week wages he had at Burnley, and the player is strongly considering the move. However, Leeds and Everton are hopeful of convincing him to stay in England and the Premier League.
