Leeds United’s forward line has only had Lukas Nmecha added to it thus far in the transfer market, in spite of seven new faces coming in.
Daniel Farke had Manor Solomon last season but his replacement — it could be argued — is Jack Harrison. In terms of numbers out wide, Leeds United therefore have four wingers.
But Solomon rejoining after a successful loan spell has not materialised, with it looking less likely by the day that Leeds are interested in resigning the 26-year-old Tottenham Hotspur winger.
Solomon’s social media post appeared to be a Leeds farewell previously as it was claimed Thomas Frank wanted to assess Solomon.

Even with all that talk, there are still reports that Leeds remain interested in signing Solomon permanently this summer. However, it appears as though Solomon has informed Tottenham he wants a second chance at the club.
Initial reports suggested that a fee between £15 million and £20 million would sign Solomon. The recent reports state Solomon will cost just shy of £20 million, if he doesn’t remain in north London for the 2025/26 season.
But current indications do not point towards him returning. Farke spoke after Leeds played against Villarreal today in pre-season, with a 1-1 draw at Elland Road thanks to Joel Piroe’s equaliser.
DF: “We have lost our standout player from the second half of last season (Solomon). It is clear we need additions in attack. Daniuel James and Jack Harrison had little issues making them unavailable.” #lufc

MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES
Speaking post-match via Beren Cross of The Athletic, in full, Farke said: “Offensive-wise, if we are really honest, we have lost one of our main threats of the offence with Manor Solomon.
“Didn’t have many additions so far from then, if I am really honest. Then, you don’t have players like Dan James who’s important for us. Jack Harrison is not available due to injury.
“When they are not available, then of course, it’s a bit thin the offence. We know what we have to do and what we need.”
It is precisely why Leeds need Solomon replacements, even if James, Willy Gnonto, and Largie Ramazani are all exciting options in their own right.

The Athletic’s Beren Cross believes Leeds have pitched to several wingers while the process for Igor Paixao was ongoing.
One alternative to both Solomon and Paixao for Leeds could be RC Strasbourg’s Dilane Bakwa. Cross revealed he is someone they have their eye on already. Bakwa was linked alongside Bilal El Khannouss.
He wrote that he “is another wide option Leeds have explored. He is not being pursued at the moment, but could be someone they turn to.”
Dilane Bakwa’s career stats
His career goals and assists so far are not out of this world in the same way Paixao’s and Solomon’s have been of late, but the 22-year-old still ticks many of the boxes Leeds need in and out of possession from their wingers next term.
