A woman has died after getting into difficulty in water in Co Donegal.
Gardai said the woman, who was aged in her 50s, was airlifted from the water at Glencolmcille on Friday evening. They said officers were alerted to the incident shortly after 7pm.
“The woman, aged in her 50s, was airlifted from the water and taken to Sligo University Hospital where she was pronounced deceased a short time later,” they said.
“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course. A file will be prepared for the Coroner.
“Investigations ongoing.”
