After Leeds United’s 1-1 draw to Villarreal, Daniel Farke issued a worrying injury update.

In what was a game with little action, the Whites played out a respectable draw against their Spanish opposition.

Farke will have taken plenty of positives, but a few issues emerged as Isaac Schmidt must leave on loan after a disappointing display.

Promising things can be taken from Anton Stach and Brenden Aaronson, who looked like a class above everyone else.

But a few players were missing from the squad today, and the Leeds boss has issued an update where he’s ‘concerned’ about one player.

The injury concern before the game involved a new signing, as Lucas Perri had a pre-existing niggle.

This kept the shot-stopper out of the matchday squad, but there was also the absence of Jayden Bogle.

Leeds fans might want to look away as speaking after the game, Farke claimed he was ‘a bit concerned’ about the right-back, who has had a hip flexor problem.

Bogle has been ‘world class’ in pre-season, continuing his form from last campaign, so it’s certainly not ideal news just a few weeks before the season starts, as the defender will miss the Peacocks’ final game against AC Milan before the Premier League opener vs Everton.

Alongside this, Dan James’ situation was also explained.

Dan James has had ‘light problems’ after ‘rusty’ start at Leeds United

In a bizarre start to this pre-season, the Welshman hasn’t looked his normal self, with James being ‘rusty’ for Leeds.

This is certainly not expected from the Whites’ player of the season, as the 27-year-old was consistent throughout last campaign.

Well, Farke came with a more positive update on the electric winger, which might explain why he’s had this rustiness.

“James had light problems during this week. Did not want to risk anything. Expect him back next weekend,” Farke said.

With James on the mend, the same can’t be said for Jack Harrison, whose future is still uncertain.

“Jack (Harrison) had every session and game since after the camp. Struggling with adductor problems now. Wait for the scan. Consultant on Monday.”

With Harrison now looking set for a spell on the sidelines, this doesn’t bode well for his future, but the result of the scan needs to be taken into account.

The squad still isn’t 100% ready, and although fans will finally see the best of James soon, Bogle’s news is a serious worry.
