The A-list celebrity has been invited to a poetry reading at The Green Dragon pub on Marlborough High Street by former colleague Mark Whelehan.
Mr Whelehan will be reading from his new book Inamorta as part of Marlborough LitFest’s Poetry In The Pub event.
He has invited Dame Judi to perform with him and read a poem inspired by her, named Doody Doody Doo.
Mr Whelehan says he worked with Dame Judi as an assistant stage manager in London’s West End in 1985.
He admitted it’s unlikely she will turn up, but hopes he will be surprised.
“Judi was very lovely to me, she is the sweetest person imaginable,” he said.
“I’m sure she will be far too busy to come down to Marlborough; but you never know, so I have sent her an invitation.”
Inamorta is a collection of 70 poems written “in tribute to women and their beauty, power and strength”.
Mr Whelehan added: “I’m 70 in September so thought I would mark the occasion with poems about 70 women I have known.
“Womankind is magnificent, I’m in awe of women and want to exalt their wonders with these poems written about those who have had such an inspirational effect on me.”
