A traveller exploring Europe has shared the three things you never need to pack in your carry-on bag. Packing for a trip abroad can be stressful at the best of times, and TikTok content creator Anjali has since revealed what you can leave at home.
Her post saw her reveal the three items which would be pointless for travelling through Europe and North Africa. Anjali, who says she had just finished her first week of a three-week trip, revealed the three items you can leave behind. She also offered suggestions on what you can pack instead, with plenty of space made in your bag with the removal of these pieces.

The first item you can leave behind would be “sneakers” which, according to Anjali, are taking up more space than is necessary.
She said: “You really do not need to bring sneakers and I recommend instead that you get a pair of closed toe sandals. Just wear them with socks on the plane.
“You’re going to end up wanting to shop when you’re in Europe and the sneakers that you wear on the plane will be taking up so much space in your bag that you’ll wish you hadn’t brought them.”
When asked how she could keep comfortable wearing sandals, Anjali suggested the right pair of sandals is important. She wrote: “The right pair of sandals is key! I felt so much less sweaty and hot than I would have in socks and shoes.”
After ditching the additional footwear, Anjali turned her attention to tight dresses, which she explained weren’t suitable for summer getaways due to the weather. “It’s just way too hot right now,” she said.
“You’re gonna end up with sweat marks all over, it’s not gonna be good. What I’ll recommend instead is going for linen but in darker colours because it still feels formal but right now, where I am, it’s still like 29C even at seven or eight o’clock in the evening.”

She added: “Having something in a darker colour but still in a lightweight fabric like linen will make you feel so much more comfortable but still nice and dressed up.”
Following Anjali’s explanation of why bringing additional shoes and fitted dresses is unwise, her third recommendation for what to leave behind might catch people off guard. According to the TikTok creator, tote bags should remain at home.
She clarified: “I love a shoulder bag or tote bag when I’m at home, it’s my preferred way of carrying everything around, especially in New York when I want to take everything with me for the day.
“I really recommend going with a crossbody instead because you’ll feel so much more comfortable being able to turn it around to the front, especially if you’re moving through train stations or anywhere crowded.
“Just being able to keep your hand on your belongings will make you feel a lot more comfortable with the pickpocket situation. But then also it’s nice to have the weight distributed over your body if you’re walking around all day.”
