Tens of thousands of Oasis fans in Edinburgh next weekend are set to have an extra treat, as it has been confirmed that the Red Arrows will be flying over Murrayfield Stadium, moments after a fly past for this year’s Military Tattoo. And the news comes months after it was confirmed that the world famous stunt legends will be back at the Great North Run for 2025.

It’s now been a month since Oasis kicked off their highly anticipated reunion tour, almost a year on from the announcement that it was actually happening. Cardiff was the first calling point on the now worldwide jaunt, with the tour kicking off in front of a packed crowd inside the Principality Stadium on July 4. Since then there have been ‘biblical’ shows on home turf, as droves of fans flocked to Heaton Park in Manchester and this weekend Oasis will complete their run of gigs at Wembley Stadium.

From there, Liam, Noel and their bandmates will head north across the border for three concerts at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield ground on August 8, 9 and 12. Just like all the other tour dates, tickets for all three Scottish gigs were snapped up as soon as they went on sale, with them being like gold dust.

With no North East stops on the Oasis tour schedule, many people from the region are set to head up to Edinburgh over the next week or so, with trains up to the Scottish capital, already bustling thanks to this year’s Fringe festival, set to be packed. And anyone at the Murrayfield gig on Saturday, August 9, will get a little piece of home, as Great North Run icons, the Red Arrows, have confirmed a fly over for just after 6.15pm, when opening act Cast are due to be on stage.

The fly over Murrayfield will occur just a minute after their Military Tattoo fly past, with the Red Arrows time departing from Blackpool Airport just after 5.40pm and going past the likes of Penrith, Preston, Eyemouth and Musselburgh, before their transit route back to Blackpool takes them over the likes of Moffat and Whitehaven.

This week, a post that claimed to be ‘leaked’ Oasis tour dates for 2026 has been widely shared on social media and includes a night at St James’ Park in Newcastle next July, as well as a string of shows at both the Etihad stadium in Manchester and Knebworth. However, the list has quickly been written off as a fake by many fans of the band, as much as they’d love it to be true.
