A man has been charged after a woman was dragged into an alleyway while on her way to work. Mitchell Lee Rogers has been charged with threats to kill, kidnap, assault causing actual bodily harm and committing a criminal offence with intent to commit a sexual offence.
The 35-year-old, of no fixed abode, is accused of attacking a woman and dragging her into Passage Road in Henbury, between 6.30am and 7am on Friday, August 1.
Avon and Somerset Police said the woman managed to escape and that she will be offered support.
In a statement, the police force said Rogers is currently in custody pending an appearance before Bristol Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday, August 4).
Detective Sergeant Paul Melton from Avon and Somerset Police, said: “We know people will be concerned about such a worrying incident happening on their doorstep, but this sort of attack by a stranger really is very uncommon.
