A man was punched in the face during an “altercation” with a group of youths in the city centre. The assault on London Road is believed to have happened at around 7.45pm on Sunday, August 3.
It was reported to Merseyside Police that a man in his 40s had been punched during an altercation with a group of youths.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics for a facial injury.
In photos sent to the ECHO, a cordon can be seen in place on the road, with an Arriva bus inside the small cordon.
The force is appealing for anyone who saw the incident to get in touch.
No arrests have been reported.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information following an assault on London Street at around 7.45pm yesterday (Sunday, August 3).
“It was reported that a man aged in his 40s had been punched following an altercation with a group of youths. The man was treated at the scene by paramedics for a facial injury.
“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch. If you have any information, you can call 101 or DM @MerPolCC on social media, quoting reference number 25000639652.”
