Manchester United’s players are flying back to England now with the Premier League Summer Series trophy in the bag.
Their 2-2 draw against Everton after Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount’s goals were pegged back twice by the Toffees, saw them top the table and lift the pre-season trophy ahead of West Ham and Bournemouth. United’s players are now returning to the UK with the start of the Premier League campaign less than two weeks away.
Unsurprisingly, the spirit in the camp is positive after success in the US and Harry Maguire personified that with his Instagram post in the early hours of this morning. Sharing a selfie with third choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton, the centre-back shared: “Perfect man for a long flight…
“Sends me straight asleep.” Heaton took the post in the good nature that it was meant as he replied by covering Maguire’s face with the Pinocchio emoji.

The love between Fernandes and Mount was clear too on the social media site as the latter shared a picture of the two celebrating his goal against David Moyes’ side. United’s captain was quick to respond by sharing the post followed by the caption: “My guy.”

This season is a big one for United but particularly Mount who has seen both Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo join the club and potentially offer competition for his place in the team. However, his stunning goal in the draw with Everton could help stake his claim for a starting spot against Arsenal on August 17.
Ruben Amorim has just one more opportunity to observe his team in a match setting before the competitive action begins. The Reds return to Old Trafford for a clash with David de Gea’s Fiorentina on Saturday lunchtime.
