Amid continued criticism regarding the interim government’s economic measures, Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed has called on critics to also highlight the positive aspects of the economy.
He said this at a seminar at the National Board of Revenue (NBR) headquarters in Agargaon today (4 August).
“Do you see nothing good in the economy? It takes insight to notice the progress that has been made,” he said to the critics.

“Yes, we [interim government] make mistakes. But when the good work is encouraged, it feels good. Still, you have the freedom to say what you want,” he added.
The seminar was organised to brief journalists on the changes made in income tax, VAT and customs policies in the budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
NBR Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan presided over the seminar. Economic Reporters Forum President Doulot Akter Mala also spoke, among others.
