Oliver McBurnie is undergoing his medical in London on Tuesday ahead of his move to Hull City after agreeing terms on a three-year deal with the Championship club.

City have a facility they use in the capital and regularly send potential new signings there to undergo a thorough medical check before the deal is completed, and that’s the case with McBurnie. The 29-year-old forward is due at the MKM Stadium later on Tuesday to meet staff and go through the usual in-house club media protocols, including an interview and pictures, before an announcement is made.

As revealed on Monday night, McBurnie had agreed a long-term contract at the MKM Stadium with the club making a significant investment in the former Sheffield United frontman following his departure from relegated La Liga side Las Palmas.

McBurnie confirmed his departure from Las Palmas on Monday night in an emotional social media post, bringing an end to his solitary year on the Canary Islands.

It’s expected McBurnie will be given the number nine jersey at City and will likely wear it for the first time in the season opener at Coventry City on Saturday, though, given he’s not played a pre-season game, it will be from the bench.

The latest on his move to East Yorkshire was a hot topic in the latest episode of the 1904 Club, along with City’s interest in Joe Gelhardt and everything else happening around the MKM Stadium on the eve of the appeal hearing against their EFL transfer ban.
