Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz is the primary target for Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Standing at 6’1″, being a reliable finisher, and linking play well as the focal point of the attack — it’s clear to see why Leeds United are keen for a player of Rodrigo Muniz’s profile to come in this summer.

They need someone who can lead the line and spearhead Leeds’ striker position, with it becoming clearer by the week that Muniz is Leeds’ top striker target this summer transfer window.

There have also been reports that Spurs have seen a bid for Muniz rejected earlier in the window, with Newcastle United said to have joined the Muniz race alongside others in recent weeks as well.

The problem is that Leeds have been met with competition in the race for Muniz, and it appears to be getting more difficult by the day with interest mounting.

Newcastle’s interest has also been added to with Serie A outfit Atalanta BC also eyeing Muniz. Leeds’ top target will not be an easy deal to complete.

That’s despite positive progress on a deal for Muniz being made in recent weeks, with Muniz to Leeds supposedly accelerating via some reports.

Now, Atalanta are stepping up their efforts for the 24-year-old striker, with Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio outlining the latest.

He reports that Muniz is the top target for their attack, but also that a trip to England for Antonio Percassi is expected and he will speak directly with Fulham.

It’s likely that a club-record fee from Leeds is required to sign Muniz and there is a question of how high the Serie A side can go in terms of the financials to acquire him, however.

Everton striker Beto is an alternative to Muniz but perhaps VfB Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirovic could be someone Leeds sign instead.

He is a peak-age player with plenty of quality and know-how already. Unfortunately for Demirovic, he has been out of favour with Stuttgart due to Nick Woltemade and Deniz Undav’s form also being excellent.

He could be well-suited to Premier League football and a sensible signing for Leeds if they can strike a deal for a player who has only spent one season at Stuttgart.

Ermedin Demirovic’s Bundesliga record (last three seasons)

Demirovic has really hit his stride in the last two seasons, scoring regularly and showing his creative side in numerous moments when combining with teammates around the box.

As the lone striker with runners around him, and good deliveries into the box, Demirovic could be exactly what Leeds need in their first season of Premier League football.

The fact he is available after winning the 2024/25 DFB-Pokal with Stuttgart may be a surprise, but he deserves to be playing regularly in the top flight somewhere.
