Ben Doak is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs as the Liverpool winger awaits a decision over his future, having impressed so far in pre-season.
While it is not guaranteed that Doak will leave Liverpool this summer, it seems likely – and the Scot is not short of interest.
Journalist David Lynch, whose work can be found on Substack, has revealed in a post on X that both Wolves and West Ham have joined the list of clubs considering a permanent offer.
This comes following bids from Ipswich and Crystal Palace in January – both turned down, but with the latter maintaining their interest – and overtures from Nottingham Forest and Everton already this summer.
Bournemouth, Brentford and PSV Eindhoven have also been named as suitors while Doak is reported to be on the radar of clubs in Spain.
Liverpool could find themselves in a strong position if it comes to negotiating a sale, having rejected bids worth £15 million and £16 million in the winter window.
The champions are said to value their No. 50 at closer to £30 million, and if multiple clubs come to the table for a deal within the next month they could be confident of achieving that figure.
It could be argued that Doak should be kept as part of Arne Slot‘s first-team squad, particularly given his potential and how comfortable he already looks operating in a top-level side.
He has produced a number of promising displays in Liverpool’s warmup schedule this summer, not least in Monday’s 4-1 win over Athletic Club at Anfield.
The 19-year-old played a key role in setting up the second goal of the evening before firing in the third via the palms of goalkeeper Unai Simon.
But starting as part of a second-string side in the first of two friendlies, his position in the squad is clear – finding himself firmly behind Mohamed Salah in the pecking order.
There remains a sense that, unlike Rio Ngumoha on the left, Doak is more on the periphery in the considerations of Liverpool’s head coach.
Liverpool will be aware that, having joined as a youth player, any money brought in with Doak’s sale would resemble pure profit on their books, as was the case with deals for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah and Nat Phillips.
Tyler Morton‘s imminent £15 million to Lyon will boost that situation further, as would the sale of Harvey Elliott along with potential moves for James McConnell and Luca Stephenson.
