Inter Milan has taken a decisive step in the final stages of the summer transfer window with a concrete offer for one of the most sought-after strikers currently.

According to Italian media, the “neroazzurre” team has presented an official proposal to Olympique de Marseille to secure the services of Mason Greenwood, with the aim of making him the mainstay of Christian Chivu’s team’s attack.

The 23-year-old English striker has been one of the most prominent names of the last season in Ligue 1.

After a loan spell at Getafe from Manchester United, Marseille decided to make him permanent and Greenwood regained his best form, scoring 22 goals and attracting the attention of several European clubs, including Inter, who did not want to miss the opportunity to sign him.

The Italian club’s sporting directors believe that Greenwood fits perfectly with the profile of a striker they are looking for: young, promising, talented and with proven scoring ability. In Milan, they believe that, with the right players around him, the Englishman could become a key figure in their quest to win titles both domestically and internationally.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Marseille have yet to make an official response to the offer, however, as they own the player’s rights, they will have the final say on his future. What is clear is that Inter are making a serious effort to convince the player with an ambitious sporting project in a league with a higher level of competitiveness than Ligue 1./Express newspaper/
