Officers from the Pudsey Ward Neighbourhood Policing Team have said they will be increasing high-visibility patrols in known trouble spots to identify and deal with young people involved.
The police said they would be working with Leeds City Council’s anti-social behaviour team, as well as youth service providers, to “engage with young people and direct them into available diversionary activities”.
A police spokesperson said: “We will carry out high-visibility patrols across the ward in identified hotspots to identify young people involved.
“We will work closely with partners in youth service provisions to engage with young people, in order to direct them into available diversionary activities.
“In addition, we will liaise with Leeds City Council Anti-Social Behaviour Team, to review and take action against those repeatedly involved in anti-social behaviour.”
The team, based at Pudsey Police Station, also announced they would be targeting residential burglary in the area.
This will involve intelligence-led patrols at key times, as well as the use of crime prevention measures.
Anti-social vehicle use and speeding will also be tackled by the team using speed indication devices.
