Aston Villa are closing in on a deal to sign Nice forward Evann Guessand.
A deal is expected to be completed for around £30 million, which would be Nice’s second-highest transfer sale.
BirminghamLive understands that the 24-year-old will travel tomorrow ahead of undergoing his medical.
Guessand has attracted interest from several clubs, including some in the Premier League, but Villa appear to have won the race to sign him.
He scored 12 goals and provided nine assists in Ligue 1 last season, primarily playing off the right wing.
His versatility is likely to appeal to Unai Emery, as he is capable of operating across the front line, including as a central striker.
So far this summer, Villa have made just one first-team signing, with Marco Bizot arriving to replace Robin Olsen as the club’s back-up goalkeeper.
Zepiqueno Redmond also joined on a free transfer from Feyenoord, though he could be sent out on loan.
