The next UK heatwave is about to hit – but 11 counties in England could miss out. Hot weather maps a return of 30C heat, with temperatures set to skyrocket back into the mid to high 20s later this month.
A fourth UK heatwave of the year could see temoperatures hit as high as 30C in some areas on August 15. Maps from WX Charts, which uses Met Desk data, shows the country turning a yellow hue, with shades of amber and even red.
But places set to miss out include Norfolk and Westmorland, as well as Cumberland, Lincolnshire, East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Durham and Northumberland will miss out in the North East, too, alongside Cornwall in the south west and Kent in the east.

Looking at the short term, a Met Office update says those further south in the UK will see less in the way of high rainfall totals on Thursday as fronts move gradually south and east, though an unsettled feeling to the weather is likely for many with temperatures around average.
A similar theme is likely later this week and into the weekend, with a changeable theme to the weather for those in the north and northwest, with drier conditions more likely further south.
BBC forecaster Matt Taylor adds: “It will mean that all areas of the UK should have drier conditions compared with the past few weeks, although occasional showers can still be expected, especially in more northern and western areas.
“Weather models are also hinting at further bursts of heat too. With temperatures on the near continent into the mid-30s at times, we may tap into that with some southern areas possibly hitting or exceeding 30 Celsius, but it is too early to pinpoint which days will be warmer than others.
“Overall, average temperatures across the UK for August are expected to be above-normal, in line with a warming climate as well as the overriding forecast weather patterns.”
