Things have been getting better in the British royal family. Prince Harry and King Charles are reportedly on the road to reconciliation. King Charles’ cancer is serious, but reportedly manageable. The divorce rumors surrounding Kate Middleton and Prince William, as well as Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle have pretty much died down. And yet, the relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry continues to draw attention, because it doesn’t seem to be on the right path.

And now, the two are set to finally meet face to face for the first time in years. The two are both set to be invited to the wedding of their eldest cousin, Peter Phillips, Hello! reports. Phillips announced recently that he is engaged to Harriet Sperling after one year of dating.

The couple announced the news with a statement that read: “Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today confirmed their official engagement.”

It went on: “Both families were informed jointly of the announcement and were delighted with the wonderful news of their engagement. Their Majesties The King and Queen, The Prince and Princess of Wales, have been informed of the announcement. No date has been officially set for the wedding.”

Phillips shares a close relationship with both his cousins, Prince William and Prince Harry. Hello!’s royal correspondent, Danielle Stacey, said his relationship with William, “Peter has been viewed as a supportive older brother figure to Prince William, and the pair have held a close relationship since childhood.”

She added, “Peter previously said of his cousins that there was ‘quite a gang of us’ and they ’caused quite a bit of mayhem and chaos’.”

Prince Harry recently skipped the wedding of Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, and Olivia Henson. The Duke is Prince Archie’s godfather. He did attend the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes, but he did it without Meghan Markle. He also reportedly kept his distance from his brother, who was also at the funeral. But he has a close enough relationship with his cousin Peter that he would likely make the attempt to go to the wedding, even if security concerns keep him from attending with Meghan and their kids. And with reconciliation with King Charles in the cards, Harry might believe this is the time to talk to William.

This all comes after The Daily Beast reported that, according to a friend of William, “He absolutely f***ing hates” his brother. That same source also told the outlet that. “William will never, ever forgive Harry for what he has done. Charles is the king; he can do what he likes. But make no mistake: William believes with every fiber of his being that giving Harry and Meghan back any royal imprimatur is a huge mistake.”

Recent reports indicate King Charles and Prince Harry are on the way to fixing their relationship, with Prince Harry reportedly inviting his family to the next Invictus Games, which will be held in the UK in 2027. There are also reports that the King wants not only Prince Harry but Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, involved in his funeral.

But all of that doesn’t seem to extend to Prince William, and now the brothers will have a chance to see each other and finally air out their grievances. That could be a really good thing, or a really bad one.
