Summer in Manchester is always packed with exciting events, many of which are festivals and outdoor gigs played by iconic artists. Gracing our city this year at the relatively new Live from Wythenshawe Park will be Dublin band of the moment Fontaines D.C. and North East golden boy Sam Fender, on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th August respectively – and naturally, fans have plenty of questions.
Whether you need to know how to get there, the best time to arrive or which support acts to look forward to, we’ve put together a handy guide to how to best enjoy this year’s Live from Wythenshawe Park gigs in Manchester.

Fontaines D.C. – Friday 15th August, 2025
Sam Fender – Saturday 16th August, 2025
Who are the support acts?
Fontaines D.C. are set to see support from Belfast rap trio Kneecap – despite uncertainty from Manchester City Council – setting the scene for their fellow Irish pals. Mercury Music Prize-winning Leeds band English Teacher will also support Fontaines D.C., making it an all-indie, critically-acclaimed affair.

Sam Fender will be bringing along pop sensation Olivia Dean as his support, in no change to his touring line-up, with the two having become great friends. Expect soul-informed bangers that’ll get you in the mood for Mr. Fender.
When is the best time to get to Wythenshawe Park?
Doors open for both Wythenshawe Park gigs at 4pm, so if you’re wanting a spot close to your favourite musicians, this will be the best time. You’ll also want to get in early if you’re after some of the delicious food on offer, but otherwise, the main acts are only likely to come on at around 8pm, so around 6pm would work if you’re after the support acts, too.
What’s the best way to get to Wythenshawe Park?
There’s a dedicated Moor Road tram stop which is the closest to Wythenshawe Park, which is ideal for getting to the gigs from Manchester city centre, or further afield – just hop on the Manchester Airport line.
Wythenshawe Park and Baguley tram stops will be closed after 9pm, but you can use Moor Road after the event. The stop will be signposted from inside the park.
