Birmingham Airport’s runway has reopened after a flight was forced to make an emergency landing this afternoon.
Emergency responders attended to three individuals at the scene following the incident as one person sustained minor injuries and two others received treatment as a precautionary measure.
A light aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at the airport due to landing gear problems while en route to Belfast International Airport.

It is understood that the twin-engined Beech King Air flight suffered a malfunction with its landing gear, resulting in the collapse of its main undercarriage at the moment of touchdown.

The company that operates the aircraft has confirmed the mechanical failure occurred during the landing sequence.
Woodgate Aviation, the owner of the plane, said: “The aircraft returned to Birmingham and made an emergency landing and the main under-carriage collapsed on touch down.”
The disruption has created significant challenges for travellers.
Airlines have cancelled dozens of scheduled services, with many more experiencing lengthy delays as normal operations remain suspended.
Airport authorities are advising all passengers to check with their carriers before travelling to the terminal.
Birmingham Airport confirmed that its runway has reopened and all operation have resumed.
A statement from the airport reads: “Following the aircraft incident today, the runway has reopened and operations have resumed.
“All passengers must check flight details with their airlines and follow advice issued by them.
“We understand the frustration and apologise for the disruption this has caused.

Those already at the airport face extended waiting times as airlines work to accommodate affected travellers on alternative services.
Photos posted online show a small propeller plane had landed on the runway.
