Rachel Reeves, who is also MP for Leeds West and Pudsey, toured Springfield Mills on Tuesday (August 5) to observe the construction of eight hybrid units intended to accommodate local and regional firms.

Each of the units comprises a ground-floor workshop space, a first-floor office space, and dedicated parking.

Ms Reeves said: “It was a pleasure to visit Springfield Mills and see the work they’re doing to expand their units.

“Farsley continues to attract more inward investment from businesses, creating jobs and helping grow the local economy.”

Chris Pratt is director of Gaunts Ltd, which runs Springfield Mills and is based at the site.

Mr Pratt said: “We receive many enquiries from businesses for this kind of space, so it made sense, from a practical and environmental point of view, to use the existing land we have here.

“We’re pleased to be working with regional firms OGL Construction, Shelby Group, and architects Bowman Riley from the start on all aspects of design, build, costings, and detailed plans.”
